    Kaohsiung is the regional hub in southern Taiwan and the second-largest city on the island.     The north-south red line and east-west orange line of Kaohsiung Mass Rapid Transit system cross Kaohsiung City and reach neighboring cities and towns, which help expand access to and from the hinterland of metropolitan Kaohsiung area.
