The entrance of Sanfengchung Street, also called Three Phoenix Market, is on Chienkuo Third Road or next to the Chung Hua Rd railway underpass. Along the 400-meter-long alley are more than one hundred stores all next to one another, with piles of various dried foodstuffs at the shop front. It is the most famous dried goods street in Kaohsiung, and the largest wholesale center for Lunar New Year goods in southern Taiwan.

As recently as one hundred years ago, Sanfengchung Street was already a distribution center for imported goods and one of the few large street markets in southern Taiwan. Today, because the dried foodstuffs on Chung Street are such a real bargain, seas of people will go there to shop for the Lunar New Year every year.
