This center, located on Wufu 1st Rd., is one of the city's oldest cultural venues and now offers a wide variety of cultural and artistic activities. In addition to exhibitions that are held in Chih Mei Hall and Exhibition Hall all year round, a diverse range of performances are held in Chih Te Hall and Chih Shan Hall almost every evening.

Located beside the famous Love River, the building was constructed in 1938 and is over 60 years old. It was Kaohsiung City Hall both during the Japanese colonial occupation and after Taiwan's restoration. However, it has now become the first museum in Taiwan planned and founded by the local Government. It was officially opened on December 25, 1998. The museum symbolizes an unforgettable memory to honor the hardship and effort of our forefathers while the City is striving for creating a marine municipality in the 21st century. Through various exhibitions of priceless artifacts and diversified research, more people are able to understand the development history of Kaohsiung City. It is hoped that respect for the past will be a driving force for the future. This is the mission of Kaohsiung History Museum.

After it is completed at Park No. 6 on Chiuju 1st Road, this museum will not only be the largest national educational institution in southern Taiwan but also, in terms of total floor area, the second-largest science museum in the world. In addition to collections that spotlight scientific and technological progress, the museum will have 18 exhibition halls divided into four groups: Scientific History and Continuity, Information and Energy, Technology in Life, and Materials and Machinery.

Opened in June 1994 in Neiweipei Cultural Park, the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts is one of the city's newest attractions. Its outdoor sculpture grounds display various kinds of artwork, while inside the galleries is a collection of famous calligraphy as well as exhibitions of classical and contemporary art.

The Film Archives is happy to offer visitors our collection of films, historical documents, and memorable incidents for your enjoyment. On the first floor is a display room, exhibiting artifacts concerning film (in Chinese). Also, on the second floor is an audio-visual room for watching movies in the library. Finally, on the third floor, there is a huge auditorium, offering free movies on a regular schedule for your viewing enjoyment. We offer special services for disabled persons.
