[Kaohsiung News] Year-end festivities are set to light up Kaohsiung! The “2026 Kaohsiung High Party” New Year’s Eve Party has officially entered its final countdown and will take place on December 31 at 7:00 p.m. along Time Avenue (Shihdai Boulevard). The event brings together 17 performance acts with a strong lineup, including an exclusive overseas guest appearance by Korea’s globally popular “Waterbomb Queen” Kwon Eun-bi. At the stroke of midnight, a spectacular fireworks display featuring 6,900 shells over 240 seconds will welcome the arrival of 2026, accompanying citizens and visitors into the new year.

To accommodate large crowds, Kaohsiung MRT and Circular Light Rail (LRT) will extend operating hours, with the MRT running until 2:00 a.m. on January 1 and the LRT until 1:30 a.m. Taiwan Railways will also add extra services to assist with passenger dispersal. The City Government encourages the public to use public transportation for both arrival and departure.

As Kaohsiung approaches 2026, a special briefing titled “2026 New Year’s Eve Party and Traffic Management” was presented at the municipal administrative meeting on the 16th, chaired by Mayor Chen Chi-mai. Mayor Chen instructed Deputy Mayor Lee Huai-jen to oversee coordination among the Transportation Bureau, Police Department, and other relevant agencies. The directive focuses on strengthening guidance and control for pedestrian flow, traffic diversion, and venue safety on the event day, ensuring smooth operations and allowing the public to celebrate with peace of mind and return home safely.

On New Year’s Eve, roads surrounding the Dream Mall area will implement three phases of traffic control. The MRT and LRT will increase service frequency to manage crowds. Due to pedestrian flow control, LRT Stations C4 Kaisyuan Jhonghua and C5 Dream Mall will suspend boarding and alighting services starting at 5:00 p.m. To support post-event dispersal, the MRT will operate until 2:00 a.m., the LRT until 1:30 a.m., and Taiwan Railways will extend services until 2:30 a.m. The City Government advises that taking the MRT is the most convenient option for attending the New Year’s Eve event.

The exciting lineup for the 2026 Kaohsiung New Year’s Eve Party features a wide array of performers, including Accusefive, 831, Fire EX., Kumachan, GBOYSWAG, Mango Jump, Rhydian Vaughan and Kaki Acrylic, AcQUA, Vicky Chen, Shuchan Chiu, Ponay, Waji, Angie, and Wing Stars, among others. The event will be hosted by Hank Chen, A Ben, and MuMu. Notably, this will mark Hank Chen and Lulu Huang Lu Zi Yin’s first joint appearance on a New Year’s Eve stage since their marriage, a moment eagerly anticipated by fans.

In addition to a strong domestic lineup, the concert’s exclusive overseas guest Kwon Eun-bi, known worldwide for her energetic and healthy image, is expected to deliver a high-impact performance that adds even more excitement to the night as Kaohsiung welcomes 2026 together with the public.

Centered on themes of passion, youth, and romance, the “2026 Kaohsiung Hi Party” reflects the city’s readiness to usher in the new year with a rich and vibrant program. The City Government reminds the public to plan transportation and accommodation in advance and invites everyone to gather at the Dream Mall area on December 31 to count down to the new year beneath dazzling fireworks.
