During the meeting, the Marine Bureau presented plans for the 2025 Kaohsiung Ocean Party, which will take place October 24–26. The event will coincide with the opening of the Starlight Waterfront Park, connecting Love River Bay and the 3rd Harbor Basin to create Kaohsiung’s largest and most diverse marine recreation celebration. Highlights will include yacht exhibitions, marine education workshops, and yacht experiences, complemented by a marine-themed marketplace, interactive performances, and nighttime light installations. The festival invites citizens to enjoy various water-based activities, such as rafting, creative float competitions, and fun aquatic challenges, showcasing Kaohsiung’s vibrant identity as “The Ocean Capital.”
Mayor Chen noted that the 2025 Kaohsiung Ocean Party will feature three main themes: Water Park Experiences, Yachting and Marine Lifestyle, and Raft-Building Competitions. He instructed city agencies and departments to ensure strict safety standards, venue maintenance, and environmental cleanliness, along with comprehensive traffic and crowd management throughout the event. The opening of Starlight Waterfront Park will also introduce new water recreation facilities such as waterslides and floating swings, providing citizens with a safe and enjoyable marine playground.
