Based on Southern Region Logistics Zone’s need to develop its industry and its ability to compete at the international level, Ministry of Finance formally approved the “Kaohsiung Kang-Shan Ben-Chou Logistics Zone” establishment plan in 2004. It became the first city with a sanctioned logistics zone. |

Kang-Shan Ben-Chou Logistics Zone is divided into tax-protection logistics, hi-tech logistics, transportation logistics and warehouse logistics. With the aid on telecommunication, communication and informatics in Kaohsiung Science Park’s “Telecommunication Technology Center”, the Zone’s logistics system strengthens automation technology. It creates the “manufacture, reorganization, verification, distribution” value-added hi-tech logistics zone. International freighter may unload with cranes and store the items directly into the warehouse logistics center. It is a one-step custom-crossing without having to transfer.

Kang-Shan Ben-Chou Logistics Zone is located in the Kaohsiung city Kang-Shan Ben-Chou Industrial Zone. It borders on Gangshan Township, Lujhu Village and Yungan Village. The Zone takes up 5.72 hectares at the west side of the Industrial Zone. The plots within the Zone are planned flexibly."
The western border neighbors Yungan Industrial Zone, the north the Kaohsiung Science Industrial Park, and the east the first environmental science & technology park sanctioned by Environmental Protection Administration. It is within the economic transport distance of 30 kilometers of Kaohsiung International Airport and Kaohsiung Harbor, which has the largest transit volume at the national level. This position gives the logistics zone an advantage to develop into an international logistics center. |
