[Kaohsiung News] The Kaohsiung City Government's Hakka Affairs Commission presented a special briefing on the "Yudui Cultural Pathways" during the municipal administrative meeting on Nov 12. The plan encompasses cultural trail development in the district of Meinong, Shanlin, Liougui, and Jiasian, featuring five themed routes that highlight the area's rich culture, historical, and natural resources. By connecting local communities and cultural heritage, these pathways provide citizens with a more profound understanding of the development of Hakka settlements, while also becoming a new focal point for leisure hiking and cultural exploration.

Mayor Chen Chi-mai stated that the Yudui Cultural Pathway spans multiple districts, showcasing Hakka industries, history, and ethnic features, while preserving the cultural legacy of Kaohsiung's eastern nine districts. This initiative aligns with the city goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions policy. Mayor Chen instructed the Hakka Affairs Commission to continue advancing the project actively, in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, Agriculture Bureau, and local district offices. By integrating resources, they aim to enhance both the amenities and infrastructure facilities of the Yudui Cultural Pathway, promoting eco-friendly and low-carbon tourism. This initiative not only allows citizens to deeply experience the historical and cultural aspects of Hakka settlements but also raises environmental awareness among locals and visitors.

Additionally, Mayor Chen emphasized that the City Council's review of the next fiscal year's budget commenced on the 12th. He urged all agency and department heads to fully understand their budget preparations and to provide thorough explanations to council members to ensure a smooth review process.

Regarding the execution of this year's capital expenditures, an estimated completion rate of 92.72% is projected. Mayor Chen called on all city agencies and departments to proactively implement and manage projects to ensure a completion rate of 90% or above. He also instructed department heads to personally oversee unresolved tenders exceeding NT$10 million, urging them to expedite contracting and complete municipal projects to better serve the citizens.
