Kaohsiung CityGovernment

In 1979, Kaohsiung City was revamped to become a legislative council-administered city. Due to the changes of the administrative system and the fiscal demarcation, all institutes of technical and further education and senior high school (vocational) education were put under the administration of this city. At the beginning of the system changes, the new face of the international harbor metropolis gradually emerged due to various construction projects. Most of the population gathered in the city and there was rapid industrial and commercial growth. In order to cope with the manpower needs of the industrial and commercial communities, the proactive nurturing of talents has become a major goal of education. Therefore, the self-sufficiency of the government has allowed it to invest a huge amount in the business of education, which has resulted in remarkable progress in terms of software and hardware construction.
