     Ear-shooting Festival of the Bunon in Taoyu
    Ear-shooting Festival is the most ceremonious events for the Bunon tribe, and the only ritual that relates to hunting. The festivity is held in April and May when the tribe is not busy sowing or weeding. Members of eight tribes from Nantou County, Hualien County, Taitung County and Kaohsiung County will participate in the event, in addition to numerous tourists. The tourists are attracted by the unique culture and come to the ritual to experience the primitive dancing
    culture of the Bunon tribe. The festivity is an important cultural property of Taoyuan Township which is famous island-wide.

    Maolin is located in the beautiful mountain are in the Maolin Scenic Recreational Area in Kaohsiung County. Under the guidance of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Dona Village is made a model community that incorporated various forms of arts in its streets. The combination of arts and hot spring, which is famous in the region, has successfully made the village a popular attraction in the southern Taiwan.
     Ear-shooting Festival of the Bunon in Sanmin
    The tribe has traditionally been a group of excellent hunters Ear-shooting Festival, sometimes called Ear-hitting Festival or Deer-ear Festival emphasized strongly on team spirit. The festivity held in Sanmin and that held in Taoyuan share same name but the activities may not be the same. In addition to the traditional ear-shooting ritual, rice husking, pig hunting, archery and wrestling, the festivity in Sanmin will be held in conjunction with agricultural product selling, aboriginal craftwork exhibitions and Bunon traditional food. The festivity will be populous and provide a perfect chance to experience traditional aboriginal culture. At the time of the festivity, the juicy and sweet peaches are just in season and are ready for markets. Visitors can try the fresh peaches at the festivity.
