     Milk Fish Cultural Festival: A feast of marine culture
    Milk fish has been widely enjoyed by the Taiwanese. Mituo Township in Kaohsiung County is the aqua-cultural farm where milk fish of the best quality are raised. The Milk Fish Cultural Festival focuses on milk fish, hospitality of locals and the natural surroundings of the town. Every year, the festival attracts numerous tourists to come and taste the milk fish and experience the culture of the town. The success of the festival has also brought Linyuan, Yongan, Jiading, the nearby aqua-cultural towns, into the spotlight. The festival echoes with the Marine Cultural Festival hosted by Kaohsiung County, and become the most popular fishery cultural tourism industry.
     Taro and Bamboo Shoot Festival in Jiasian
    Taro and bamboo shoots have been the specialties of Jiasian. One-fifth of the town is taro farm and half of the town is bamboo shoot farm. Every year, the harvest of taro and bamboo shoots starts from July to September, and tens of thousands of tourists from every corner of the island will be attracted to the place to enjoy the special feasts of taros and bamboo shoots. The satisfaction is guaranteed. Gluttons are most excited with sausages made of taros and bamboo shoots! On your way to the town, you can enjoy the beauty of Liuyi Mountain in Jiasian, Nazilan River in Sanmin, and the plum farm in Baolai Mountain. The three attractions are reputed “Three Stars on the Southern Cross-Island Highway”. The trip will give you physical and spiritual satisfaction and is definitely worthy!

     Lujhu Tomato Cultural Festival
    Tomato is essential to our health and beauty. A diet rich in yellow tomatoes can help lose weights. Tomatoes have been the most popular healthy vegetable in the recent years. Lujhu is the largest place of tomato production in southern Taiwan, and the tomatoes grown here have the best qualities. The color, flavor, shape, and taste of the tomatoes are graded over 90 points. Lujhu Township Office plans a tomato cultural festival to promote the health benefits of tomatoes in the hope that tomatoes will be widely enjoyed and its delicacy will be more appreciated to bring people healthy lifestyles. Hence, tomatoes, broccolis and eggs have become the three treasures of the town.
