【Kaohsiung News】The Transportation Bureau announced the official trial run of reservation-only Shared Happiness Bus in Shanlin District to offer flexible transportation pick-up and drop-off services to locals.
The Shared Happiness Bus is a reservation-only service with no set routes or frequencies. "After two local briefings and a 1-day free ride experience activity in October this year," Transportation Bureau Director-General Chang Shu-Chuan said, "the general people reacted with tremendous excitement and continued inquiring about it. The "Shanlin District trial run services will be given free of charge Monday through Friday throughout the trial run period beginning today.
On the 18th, the trial run serviced 18 individuals in 5 trips. "She can only walk a little distance to take a bus outside since she does not know how to drive or ride a bike," an elderly indigenous woman from the Da-ai Village proudly said. "You may now schedule a vehicle to pick you up and drop you off right at your home. This is an amazing service."
According to the Transportation Bureau, the opinions and suggestions gathered through trial run will serve as the foundation for further official operations. The general public is invited to schedule a riding experience. Reservations may be made by phone at 0800-660-696 (Monday through Friday, 08:30-18:00), online (24 hours) or with the aid of local units (in compliance with the working hours of the respective units).
